With the hectic lives people live today they do not have time to sit down and read. Even when they are granted with leisure time majority of people do not want to read. Therefore I would design books that read the book to the reader. The sound would come out of a headphone jack on the top of the book. This saves space because you do not need your ipod and the book. This also saves time because they can listen to the book while eating breakfast because they do not need to actually read the book they just need to listen. This design would greatly improve the lives of people by allowing them to read while doing other tasks, allow them to listen to their favorite books without reading them and also save space in the process.

With the tight schedules children and adults have they can not afford to just relax and read a book.  They are constantly taking the children to sports and school functions and their jobs.  Giving most parents and children virtually no time to read.  However with this new design for the book they can read the book while driving, preparing dinner or playing sports. Now children can also read the book for their book report while eating an after school snack or on their way to their sporting event.  Students who have trouble reading can also use this as an aid. They can look at the words and sound them out and then hear what they sound like thus improving their reading levels.  This design is perfect for the tight schedules people face. 

Even if people have time to read in their day, reading is not on the top of the to due list for some people.  However they still might want to read a book that they hear their friends talking about or that was recommended.  So they can go get the book plug in their headphones and just sit back and listen to the book.  Some people also do not like to read because they get a headache from squinting to read the little letters.  Well, they do not have to worry about reading the letters because they can just hear them through the headphones.  This new design also speeds up the process of reading because the audio of the book will be played fluently without any stoppage or stumbling on words.  This makes the read more enjoyable because the reader will not get frustrated by not knowing a word.  With less frustration the reader will likely want to read more books.  

The fact that the book has the audio clip built into the book is a complete space and money saver.  It is  more space efficient than having an iPod with the book on because then you need the iPod, you have to download the book audio, and have your headphones.  This design cuts out the iPod part giving more space and also saving you some money because you do not need to pay to download the book to your iPod.  You also only need the book so when you buy the book you can  listen to it immediately. Also, if you are constantly reading books it can become very costly to buy both the book and pay for the book on iTunes.  Thus making this an all around efficient product.  

This design not only saves money, time and a headache but also lays down a sturdy foundation for more improvements as our technology increases. It is a very simple design that gives amazing advantages.  There is no telling what kind of designs can come to us in our near future. With scientists constantly finding ways to make products smaller and more cost efficient we could see this audio book, be upgraded into an audio book with video.  Or a book with blank pages that you have to download the book of the Internet and the words show up on the pages. This book could have a hard drive that can store multiple books on it. Which will also cut down on the amount of paper used in our world.  Technology has come a long way and will constantly grow as long as good designs like this are created. 

In todays world actions have a greater affect than words. Many people say that they will do something but rarely ever do it. This is why breaking a promise in todays world is nothing like breaking a promise in the past. The presidents say they will do whatever just to gain votes, but in reality they hardly ever do what they say. However an action is in the act of being done so they can not lie about it. An action can have both a positive effect or a negative effect but regardless it is felt by all humankind. If a person picks up a can off the street and puts it in a recycling bin his action has affected more than just him. He made the world less of an eye-sore for everyone and made the job of a garbageman easier. Thus making the famous quote true, “actions speak louder than words.”

The most important technological development in our society is the computer. No other form of document publishing is as efficient as the computer. Due to the efficiency of the computer documents were produced faster and more consistently. Being able to type one document and print an unlimited amount of copies gave little room for error and all copies were identical. With identical copies everyone had the same paper and information. The computer also gave the user a vast amount of information and things to do in their leisure time. If the user does not know enough about a topic the Internet will give them the knowledge quickly. Although we take the computer for granted in our society, without it we would less efficient and bored.

The computer is on of the most time efficient items we have in our lives. If we make mistakes while typing rather than having to start all over we can just hit the backspace key. Also, typing is a lot faster and more legible than writing by hand. The rate at which we type determines the amount of time taken on the document, we do not have to worry about messing up. There are spell checks on the computer to ensure that we do not make mistakes in our writing. We do not have the luxury of the spell check when we hand write. The response of the keys hit on the keyboard appearing on the screen is quick and accurate. The computer makes writing a lot easier to write an error free paper.

Once we have a perfect document we just need to print out the number of copies needed. This is a huge advantage the computer has over the type writer. With the type writer you would have to re-type the paper if you wanted another copy. Printing a paper typed on the computer also ensures perfect copies of what is displayed on the screen. This speeds up the process of having multiple copies of a single document, while still ensuring the quality and accuracy of the document. This allows multiple people to be able to read the same document at the same time. Meaning that each person was guaranteed to have the same information as eachother. And as we all know, the amount of information needed to know increases on a daily basis.

With the vast amount of information in our society without the computer we would have to look up the desired information in a book. The problem with getting your information from a book is the fact that you have to read through all the information you do not want to know before you get the information desired. With the ablility to get the information quickly, we then are blessed with an ample amount of leisure time. With this leisure time we could play games on the computer to pass the time. Or, we can communicate via instant messaging systems on the computer. The computer allows us to access anything our hearts desire. Keeping the user occupied and content with their free time. The possibilities are endless with this device.

While the computer is already the technological breakthrough of our time it will also most likely be the breakthrough for many years to come. This is due to its ability to always be upgraded. Upgrading a computer is quick and effortless majority of the time. By the year 2060 the computer is said to be smarter than every human brain combined. The possibilities with this machine are endless. Without this device it would take many hours to do simple tasks like typing a paper or researching information. Which would decrease our leisure time, but thankfully we were blessed with the computer. Therefore making the computer the most important technological development in our society.
